Arts Festival in Salamanca!

Summary:

Salamanca’s entered in two weeks of concerts, street art, theatre, poetry and party… And all in the Spanish summer sun! The festival kicked off on Sunday, with a fantastic dance/acrobatic display in the Plaza Mayor. Later, around the University, the people of Salamanca – and, of course, those studying here – were treated to concerts from international bands – great for music lovers! There’s much more to come so check out what you’re going to see on the programme and enjoy!

So you’re here on your Spanish language trip and want to make the most of it?

Good timing!  For the next couple of weeks in Salamanca, you’ll be able to take advantage of the FACYL festival!  With concerts from international stars in historic, beautiful buildings such as the Plaza Mayor and the Casa de las Conchas, poetry readings, street art, dance shows, fireworks and more, you won’t be bored!  There’s something for everyone, from DJs playing late into the night to daytime entertainment for kids – brilliant if you have your family over here visiting you in Spain!

A yearly hit, the festival continues to get bigger and bigger – attracting international music names such as British indie/funk band “The Go! Team” who’ll be playing towards the end of the summer festival…Who follow in the footsteps of stars such as Rufus Wainwright and Chicks on Speed, both previous festival headliners.

The festival really is a great opportunity to see what’s new in the world of music, art and culture – both in Spain and throughout the world.  It’s also a chance for you to meet new friends, have some fun nights out and really take advantage of the Spanish hot summer nights.

Given the entertainment often doesn’t start until late, you can make the most of the night by going for a typical Spanish dinner first  – Spanish food being a frequent top point in language students’  trips here.  Why not try Van Dyck for tapas? It’s cheap, with many places to try and a real Spanish experience.

Putting these highlights in your language learning trip will make it an unforgettable experience so get out there now!
