From 3rd to 6th December, the students of Mester studying Spanish in Salamanca can add some highlights to their Spanish learning trip by going to visit the “The World is a Stage” exhibition – a selection of art from Spain and Portugal. A great way to open your eyes to the culture of Spain, through the most contemporary and dynamic of mediums, it really is not to be missed!
From the beginning of December Salamanca’s Palacio de Congresos, as part of the Salamanca City of Culture scheme, will be hosting the exhibition “El Mundo es un Escenario” (“The World is a Stage”), a selection of pieces from different artists, working with different mediums such as photography, sculpture and painting.
It’s the fifth edition of the festival and it will be celebrated from Thursday 3rd until Saturday 6th December, bringing together galleries from Spain and Portugal – a brilliant celebration, in spite of the crisis! The fair’s coordinator, Rafael López has confirmed that it has been a difficult year but the only reason soe of the galleries have not been able to participate is problems with space. In fact, there will be 120 artists taking part!
It’s a great event for Salamanca, a stunning city which has won the capital of culture prize and continues to promote cultural activities to its residents, language students and university students – all of which give the city a great mixture of cultures, alllowing for wonderful events such as this exhibition.

Salamanca - a great place for art!
It’s also great news for up and coming artists in Spain and Portugal given the show will have a section for emerging artists. Thus the event really is at the cutting edge of contemporary art and so not to be missed!
