Spartak win The Final Four in Salamanca

This Sunday the final of the Final Four took place in the Multiusos Sánchez Paraíso of Salamanca. The two teams competing in the final were Salamanca’s own team Halcón Avenida and the team Spartak from Moscow. The winners of the league were Spartak, winning with 85 points, and Halcón Avenida just lost out with 70 points.

The Salamancan team did extremely well to make it through to the final as the competition was fierce. Everyone was really excited to see them win the semi-finals and make it through to the finals!! The sports centre was full of cheering fans and the city was busy with people coming to see the game. They played really well and Salamanca‘s really proud of them! Spartak played an impressive game and deserved to win the cup, not to say that Halcón Avenida weren’t just as impressive in their performance throughout the game. It was a hard match for them to win but they really tried hard and everyone was happy with the result.

The European League of Women’s Basketball has now been won by the Spartak team 3 years running!

The Final Four is coming to Salamanca this weekend, and the home team Halcón Avenida will play in their own stadium this weekend with more than 4000 supporters there to watch and cheer them on! On the 3rd and 5th of April the games will take place in Multiusos Sánchez Paraíso in the north of the city.

The team is going to be playing at home in their own stadium taking part in the Final Four to win the cup, when only a few years ago they couldn’t even have dreamt of playing in the EuroCup! The team has done better than they had hoped for in the games.

The group beat the team MiZo Pécs in Hungary, something they weren’t expecting and this has taken away their nerves and made them even more confident about winning the next games. The team have one important game left to win, the semifinal against MKB Euroleasing on Friday, and the team is feeling confident about winning this and being the best European Female Basketball team! After that, the final is on Sunday.

All the Salamancan sports lovers are waiting for the final game, the richest match in European Basketball, against Spartak-Ekaterinburg! The European Champion will be the winner of this game. This is an amazing event for Salamanca and something which we probably won’t see again for years!!

The Queen’s Cup and the Final Four in Salamanca!

This weekend is the final of the Queen’s Cup (La Copa de la Reina) in Female Basketball in Spain, in Salamanca! sev_dep_web_15

8 teams from 8 different cities have played for the cup and the final this weekend is taking place in the Multiusos Sánchez Paraíso Sportshall.

The event is nearly completely sold out and people are coming from all over Spain to see the last game. The final is this Sunday, the 8th of March, which coincides with the the International Women’s Day. From today the city is going to be full of competitors and people coming to watch!

What’s more, the International Federation of Basketball in Spain has organized the “Final Four” of the European Female League on the 3rd to the 5th of April, also in Salamanca! The Salamancan club Perfumerías Avenida who are in the European semi finals, will play in the Final Four in Salamanca, against the 3 other best teams in Europe!

The event will also take place in the Multiusos Sánchez Paraiso Sportshall, and will be on the 3-5 April.
Castile and Leon hasn’t had a sporting event this important since 1982! To make the finals available to everyone the city is going to make the ticket prices as economicable as possible.
